Academic Advising, Learning, & Technology Support

Academic Advising Support

Academic advising is a collaborative relationship between a student and an academic advisor. Academic Affairs

The Office of Academic Affairs is composed of the Offices of the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Teaching and Learning. Academic Affairs has oversight of the Higher Learning Commission reaffirmation of accreditation and program-level accreditations, academic program reviews, innovative classroom renovations, and support for faculty instruction and assessment via the Office of Instruction and Assessment and the Center for University Education Scholarship.Teaching Support

Office of Instruction & Assessment

The Office of Instruction and Assessment (OIA) supports UA faculty and graduate teaching assistants by developing their teaching skills for use in face-to-face, online, and blended courses. The teaching skills include effective use of a range of instructional technologies, media enhancements in instruction, and customized web-based learning applications, as well as effective teaching strategies that foster student learning. The OIA provides professional development on these skills through classes, tutorials, open labs, workshops, consultations, and teaching observations.
