Arizona's Science, Engineering, and Mathematics (ASEM) Scholars Program

The ASEM Scholars program provides services to support students graduating with a STEM major. This program focuses on promising students who are underrepresented in STEM, especially students who are first in their family to attend college, students from low-income households, and students from underrepresented groups, such as women and minorities.

Student Engagement & Career Development

Student Engagement & Career Development will support students as they engage in experiences that expand their capacity to make an impact on authentic challenges facing businesses and communities and to lead, to develop in-demand employable skills within and beyond the classroom and to design and implement a career plan aligned with personal strengths and values, for a lifetime of opportunity and well-being.

Center for English as a Second Language (CESL)

CESL has trained thousands of undergraduate and graduate students from nearly 100 countries for academic study, through quality teaching, a rich and engaging curriculum, and co-curricular support and offering high-quality professional development and mentoring.

CESL provides English-language instruction in full-time and part-time programs as well as providing professional development and mentoring for ESL/EFL teachers and promoting cultural and linguistic diversity.

Disability Resource Center (DRC)

The Disabilty Resources Center leads the campus in the creation of inclusive learning and working environments and facilitates access through innovative services, programs, and partnerships. Disability is an aspect of diversity that is integral to our society and to the University of Arizona campus community. The DRC collaborates with students, faculty, and staff to create a campus environment that is usable, equitable, sustainable and inclusive of all members of the university community.

Research

Responsible Conduct of Research

Fostering a culture and expectation of responsible and ethical conduct of research is a critical component in the advancement of knowledge through research and scholarship. It is also a key element in the maintenance of public trust in the research enterprise. Given that ethical issues emerge when conducting research and scholarship across disciplines of all kinds, UA is committed to providing high quality instruction in responsible conduct of research to the entire campus community.

Undergraduate Research Opportunities and Programs

UA undergraduates prepare for graduate school and careers in research by stepping outside of the classroom to collaborate with faculty, graduate students, technical staff and peers to develop new knowledge and technologies. Students can earn credit for research experiences by enrolling in directed research or independent study units (hyperlink to the section of the catalog with house numbered course info and policies).

Strategic Alternative Learning Techniques (SALT) Center

The SALT Center inspires students with learning and attention challenges to succeed in higher education. Through the provision of comprehensive academic support services, the SALT Center encourages student engagement, self-awareness, and growth.

Think Tank

The Think Tank offers a one-stop center of an array of academic support services including tutoring (group and one-on-one), supplemental instruction, workshops (time management, study skills, test taking strategies), writing support, and test prep (GRE, LSAT, MCAT).

Writing Skills Improvement Program (WISP)

The Writing Skills Improvement Program (WSIP) was established over 30 years ago in order to help students improve their writing skills and achieve academic success. The Program has a carefully selected staff of expert and committed instructional specialists/professional tutors. These writing coaches work one-on-one with students, staff, and faculty across all majors and degree programs. WSIP also offers regular writing workshops, custom workshops, and summer writing institutes.
