The Program:
The American Indian Studies GIDP is administered by the Graduate Interdisciplinary Programs Office.
The American Indian Studies (AIS) Program does not offer a baccalaureate degree; however, the AIS director can assist students who are interested in American Indian studies and are pursuing the undergraduate interdisciplinary studies major.
The American Indian Studies Program seeks to develop, through research and scholarship, a wider scope of understanding of the indigenous peoples of the Americas -- their languages, culture, traditions, and sovereignty.
Dual Degree MA/JD:
The AIS program works with the College of Law to offer students a dual degree program for the Master of Arts (M.A.) in American Indian Studies and the Juris Doctorate (JD).
For more information contact the program office listed above.
