Academic Policies
Guiding Principle on the Application of Graduate or Undergraduate Policies
(Policy created on 2/16/07)
In the absence of a formal written policy on an issue, the distinction between whether graduate or undergraduate policies apply will be the following:
1. The first determining factor is the number of the course for which the student is registered. If the student enrolls in a 500-level course or higher, the student is subject to policies of the Graduate College; if the student enrolls in a 400-level course or lower, the student is subject to undergraduate policies.
2. In the event that the issue is not related to a given course, the guiding factor is the degree to which the student will apply the credit (bachelor's degree or graduate degree).
