All courses below are approved to be taught in Summer 2008; however, some (or all) may not be offered.  The course numbers that are offered, in either Pre-Session, Summer I or Summer II, are linked to the Schedule of Classes. PHIV 305 -- Introduction to Philosophy of Science  (3 units)
Description:  Basic issues in the logic of science: scientific concepts and their meaning, testing of hypotheses, explanation, measurement, role of mathematics, truth versus convention, limits of science.
Grading:  Regular grades are awarded for this course: A B C D E.
Equivalent to:  PHIL305
Mutually Exclusive: Credit allowed for only one of these courses: PHIV 305 or PHIL 305
Prerequisite(s):  two courses from Tier One, Natural Sciences (NATS 101, 102, 104).
Usually offered:  Fall, Spring, Summer.
