ARH 322 -- Introduction to Prehispanic, Hispanic, and Chicano Art  (3 units)

ARH 336 -- Introduction to First Nation/American Indian Arts  (3 units)
Description:  This course provides a selective overview of the arts, societies, and histories of First Nation/Native American descendants in the United States, Canada, and Alaska with a special focus on the Southwest cultural area.

Description:  This course examines the theoretical and methodological issues related to museum studies. Topics will include the history of display, changing roles of museums, museums and communities, the politics of collecting, and exhibition design.  This is a Writing Emphasis Course.

ARH 406A -- Spanish Medieval Art and Architecture  (3 units)
Description:  Covers Spanish art and Architecture produced by Christian, Muslim, and Jewish cultures between the fall of Rome and 1492, examining the roles of art in medieval politics and religion.  This is a Writing Emphasis Course.

Description:  This course focuses on the art and architecture of the empires of the early Middle Ages (Roman Christian, Carolingian, Byzantine) and of the so-called "Barbarians" (Celts, Anglo-Saxons, Goths) in the 4th to 10th centuries  This is a Writing Emphasis Course.

Description:  Greek vase painting from the Dipylon vases of the geometric period in Athens to the Orientalizing animal styles of Corinth and the black and red figured Attic style.
