NRSC 582 Topics in Neural Development (2) I An in-depth analysis of the cellular and molecular basis of neural development. Students will read and discuss journal articles dealing with the development of neurons and their synaptic connections. (Identical with CBA 582, MCB 582, PSIO 582).

NRSC 585 Neural Mechanisms of Behavior (2) II Discussion of the neural mechanisms of behavior; the control of movement; and integrative mechanisms and plasticity. Examples from vertebrates and invertebrates. (Identical with PSIO 585).

NRSC 586 Intracellular Messengers (2) I Intracellular messenger systems in the nervous system, description of salient features of each mechanism, and discussion of a particular system which uses that messenger. (Identical with BIOC 586, MCB 586).

NRSC 587 Biology of Neurological Disease (2) II Emphasis on reading, discussing and presenting the primary literature pertaining to scientific investigation of neurological diseases, e.g., multiple sclerosis, stroke, epilepsy. (Identical with MCB 587).

NRSC 588 Principles of Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology (4) I Detailed introduction to the biology of nerve cells, emphasizing cellular neurophysiology, synaptic mechanisms, and analysis of neural development. (Identical with CBA 588, MCB 588, BIOC 588, INSC 588, PSIO 588).
